Having visited the Wellspring Project last month, Sharon was astounded by how many people they help on a daily basis. If you haven’t heard of them, the Wellspring are a charity that are open 365 days a year offering an open door policy to anyone who is homeless. Not only do they provide the essentials such as food and clothing, they also offer professional support, referrals to housing, on site health services and much more.
This year we are challenging you to think differently about the Christmas Advent. Rather than getting a gift every day, donate one!
We are running a reverse advent calendar project with them, asking individuals and companies to donate the items they need, ensuring the project has the resources it needs to continue their good work over the winter months. The reverse advent calendar has 25 boxes, one for each of the days in the run up to Christmas. For each item you collect for them (see the list below) you cross out one of the boxes.
This full list of items they need include:
Roll-on deodorant (no aerosols)
Reusable water bottles
Long life food
For local companies and individuals we are happy to co-ordinate the delivery of items/boxes to the Wellspring, we have days booked to visit both before Christmas and in the New Year.
We know this time of year is busy for everyone and if you do not have time to take part in the reverse advent calendar, maybe you could make a financial contribution instead. These contributions can be made directly through their website: https://www.justgiving.com/thewellspring/donate
If you would like more information about thee work that they do at the Wellspring, please visit their website www.thewellspring.co.uk. If you would like to co-ordinate taking part, please give us a call on 07980 497026.
Thank for taking the time to read this and we wish all the very best for the festive season.
