Sustainable business

Why does business needs to be sustainable?

During challenging times such as economic uncertainty or the current COVID-19 situation those of us that run our own businesses can feel the stress and pressure on our own incomes. This can be for a variety of reasons and they are often out of our control. Sadly, for some the reality is that the businesses are irretrievable, and they need to find other sources of income. For others, it is how they respond to the challenge that impacts the outcome.

We often think of sustainability as dealing with issues concerning the environment. But we have long held the belief that our businesses need to be sustainable in terms of having longevity and the ability to respond to the ever-changing demands that our society throws at us.

During this pandemic, many businesses have evolved and changed their offer to continue the supply and demand in these challenging times. Online services and meetings are now commonplace, supporting each other in the local business community is vital but also uplifting in the experience of how we go about this. Our networks, partners and community are a lifeline and become family during difficult times of change. What is it that brings us together? The fact that we are in this together? Riding the storm the best way we can? The kindness and generosity of others becomes clear, we are working with our partners to achieve and to help others be successful.

This experience whilst challenging and hard work is also an opportunity for us all to learn. To learn about ourselves, our strengths, our ability to adapt, and to learn new skills. Here at Mood we continue to work during lockdown supporting local businesses to adjust, develop online content and develop their brand. To those we continue to work with, thank you. To those who continue to support us, thank you.

We’d love to hear about the surprising and unexpected things that have occurred to your business during this time of change…
